It looks like Mike Swick and Cain Velasquez are going to not be involved in UFC 100. Both fighters mentioned that they are targeting participating in UFC 99 from Germany.

A lot of people on the internet want to see Cain Velasquez fight someone note worthy like Kongo or Carwin, but the reality is the UFC is marketing this guy. They want him to amass a lot of wins so the fans get fired up to see him before giving him an opponent that could beat him. I see the same here, they will feed him a local German can for his troubles.

Mike Swick though is a different story. He wanted Thiago Alves badly, but with Thiago locked in against GSP Swick will hope to get himself a top 5 opponent. At 170 he can not fight Koscheck or Fitch, Parisyan is on the shelf with court problems, Stun Gun is now no longer undefeated, I really don’t see a lot of options for Mike. I do not see UFC putting Rumble Johnson in a fight he could lose just yet, but maybe it is finally time for Anthony Johnson to take on someone badass. Good luck Rumble, Swick is a beast.
